Senior Interaction Designer

Job duties

Create user interactions, design systems, UX flow wireframes, and interface designs. Deliver
work that’s user-friendly, aesthetically engaging, and improves interaction design metrics. Develop high level, detailed storyboards, mock-ups, and prototypes to effectively communicate interaction and design ideas. Create interaction flow wireframes based on high-level product specifications.

Conduct user testing and assimilate customer feedback. Plan and conduct user research and interviews. Work closely with cross functional peers of engineers, product managers, and artists to build fun and exciting real-world experiences. Implement both high-fidelity prototypes and low-fidelity wireframes. Take a user-centered design approach and rapidly test and iterate designs.

Education and Experience required

Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design
Design with an interactive or multimedia focus,
Human Computer Interaction, or a closely-related field and
2 years of experience as a UX Designer, Product Designer or related.

Background

Knowledge of common user experience (UX) design patterns across different platforms to create a software product interface.

Strong portfolio of work showcasing samples of interaction design for web and mobile applications, as follows: At least two individual projects involving end-to-end design process (brainstorming through implementation); At least two group projects involving end-to-end design process from research to design prototype; and One project which includes evidence of sketches, wireframes and prototypes.

A clear understanding of the importance of user-centered design and design thinking. 
Strong grasp of attention to visual design including typeface and color and a stellar portfolio that reflects exceptional experience designing user interfaces for web, mobile and screen-less service design, as follows: At least two design projects that showcase a variety of different screen/device modalities; At least one project involving end-to-end design process for a business or enterprise specific application; At least one project showcasing design element that involve data visualization and data manipulation; and At least one project showcasing system level design, i.e. creating a design system or showcasing design unification capability across multiple device form factors.

Ability to perform wireframing (wireframing for software is the creation of visual guides that represent the skeletal framework of a software application for the purpose of arranging visual elements to best accomplish a particular purpose), user flows, and information architecture to clearly communicate interaction and design ideas.

Ability to conduct primary and secondary user research activities with a strong design perspective driven from user insights and user testing. Ability to lead the design and creation of the user interface for software products, which merge screen-based interactions with the physical world.

Knowledge of design software tools such as Illustrator, Photoshop, and/or Sketch/Figma.
